I painted the word grateful on my bedroom wall shortly after we moved in. When I lay in bed, it reminds me. When Ive had a tough day, it reminds me. First thing in the morning, and last thing at night. Be grateful. A friend told me many years ago, 'think grateful thoughts, grateful thoughts are the lightest of thoughts.' And there is so much to be grateful for.

One night last week, when we were all chilling in my bed, my son said "Mom,
didn't you spell grateful wrong?
Shouldn't it be G R E A T F U L L?" I love that. Great-full. Heck yeah!
Here's to having a day full of great.

Hi Kristen! I love the thought of waking up and going to sleep everyday with my first and last thoughts being of gratitude! What a lovely idea...I think I shall steal it!! What a wonderful son you have...quite astute! I completely agree...should be GREATFULL! Also, love the "shabby chic" look of your bedroom...reminds me of a cozy cottage...which, of course, it is!
ReplyDeleteKids are great!

ReplyDeletewow. GREATFULL. I love that so much!! This blog just makes me so happy :)
ReplyDeleteA day full of great.....I love that idea. I have a journal with nothing but words in it that I have cut out that make me feel good inside. Most of the words came from a calendar I had that was called Things To Be Happy About (its also a book)...and each day I would cut out the words for that day that made me smile and I glued them into this journal. So now anytime I find something that makes me smile or stop and think....like quotes or pictures or words....I put them in this journal to remind me to smile when I might not be having a day full of great. I will add this one to it.
ReplyDeleteThank you all! Thanks Janet, glad you found me your blog is also beautiful, love the gardens..
ReplyDeleteJas - Ellie told me yesterday "mom, socks dont have to match, they can just both be awesome!" one had stars, one had rainbows and she was totally right. :) hope you and yours are doing great.
